Details
This white hits with a warm, ripe vibe straight out the gate - think stewed peaches and a splash of lime cordial. It’s got that classic floral twist (hello, jasmine!), with a little grapey edge and a cheeky hint of pear drops. High-energy acidity keeps it all fresh, and it's lush fruit makes it finish smooth and bright. A sunshine sipper for sure!
Origin: Portugal. Mainly Grown In: Portugal and very small amounts in South Africa. Key Facts: Fernão Pires is yet another grape variety worth knowing about when it comes to the diverse range of indigenous grapes and wines of Portugal. It is better suited to the warmer climes of the central and southern parts of the country, with care needed in the vineyard as it has a tendency to over-crop which can lead to dilution of flavour and concentration. However when it is treated with respect, this grape variety is capable of producing excellent white wines with stunning aromatic complexity. Like so many other grapes in Portugal, Fernão Pires can often be found alongside a host of other grape varieties both in the vineyard and in the bottle, in particular Arinto, one of Portugal’s most prolific white grapes. Fun Fact: As with many of the grapes in Portugal, Fernão Pires also goes by another name: 'Maria Gomes'.

Pairing guide
This Fernão Pires blend is all about good vibes and juicy flavours. It’s got that sweet-fruit energy without the sugar overload, making it a totally fabulous food friend. Try it with spicy Korean fried chicken, fish tacos with mango salsa, or sticky pork belly sliders. It’s also amazing with fresh Vietnamese salads, salty halloumi fries, or even a cheeky plate of peach-glazed wings. It's a spice-tamer in all the best ways. Chill it down and let the flavour party begin.
