Details
There is a lot going on in this blend of Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon. Look out for intense, balsamic notes of gravelly fruit and crushed rocks intertwining with savoury black olive and black cherry. This is an inky number with a lovely, mineral, graphite finish.
Dominio de Punctum is one of Spain's largest producers of organic and biodynamic wines. This family-owned company was founded by siblings Jesús, Ruth and Cristina who in 2005 realised their dream of producing quality sustainable wines when their winery was finally built. It is safe to say that these guys have worked miracles in the biodynamic sector in a relatively short space of time. Punctum cultivates a vast number of grape varieties, from the Spanish usual suspects' Tempranillo; Garnacha (Grenache), Verdejo and Macabeo (Viura) to more international grape types such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. Building on its organic and biodynamic principles, Punctum is also working toward becoming a net-zero outfit. They are keen to focus on their energy output within the winery and are rethinking their packaging in favour of more lightweight alternatives. They are also heavily involved in a number of reforestation projects as well as recycling 100% of their water usage... oh, and their wines aren't too shabby either!

Pairing guide
We couldn’t help but be bowled over by this stunning Tempranillo blend, which showcases a truly impressive balancing act of power and elegance, depth and expression in a truly gorgeous red from Dominio de Punctum. As for food pairing, this wine will love being paired with Spanish classics ranging from barbecued beef and pork with plenty of paprika, deeply savoury stews of meat, beans and warming spices, a meaty paella or a plate of carnitas. Mexican favourites like chilli con carne and Tex-Mex creations including beef burritos, chicken fajitas and more will also work brilliantly!
