Details
Bright, elegant, and quietly confident. Aromas of fresh lemon zest and white flowers lead the way, with a gentle whisper of toasted hazelnut just beneath the surface. On the palate it’s all about tension and balance: crisp mineral freshness up front, soft creamy texture through the middle, and a clean, citrus-driven finish that keeps things light on its feet. This refined Chardonnay has serious energy and soul.

This one’s a proper heart-and-soil story. Marion is Les Maranges through and through - born into a winemaking family, raised among the rolling hills of the southern Côte de Beaune, and happiest roaming the vineyards on horseback (shout-out to Hélios). She didn’t just grow up near the vines, she grew up with them, learning every slope, soil shift, and exposure like second nature. This deep, instinctive understanding of place is the backbone of everything that happens at Domaine Grachet-Duchemin. Enter Arnaud (partner in life and wine) and together they decided to bottle their shared love for this quietly brilliant corner of Burgundy. Their vineyards sit on fractured clay-limestone soils shaped by a geological fault, basking in south and southeast exposure. It’s a special, slightly wild patch of Hautes-Côtes de Beaune, and they treat it with respect and restraint. Small production, thoughtful winemaking, and a focus on purity mean these wines feel intimate, honest, and deeply connected to Les Maranges. (Like being let in on a local secret!)

Pairing guide
This is a dream wine for modern, unfussy cooking. Classic pairing? Pan-seared scallops with a lemon-butter glaze or roast chicken with thyme and garlic. Feeling playful? Try a mushroom and miso risotto for deep umami vibes, or grilled corn with crème fraîche, lime, and smoked salt. To nail it with a vegan option, try: a silky cauliflower and almond purée with crispy capers, or roasted fennel with lemon, olive oil, and toasted breadcrumbs. It also loves soft cheeses, veggie tarts, or anything creamy and not too heavy - the freshness keeps everything perfectly in check.

Wine region
Burgundy, France
Burgundy is located east between Paris and the Swiss border and is known for producing some of the finest and most sought-after wines (Chardonnay and Pinot Noir) in the world. The region can be divided into the following sub-regions from north to south: Chablis, Côte d'Or, Côte Chalonnaise, and Mâconnais, with parts Beaujolais to the south now under consideration. Chablis is located north of the Côte d'Or and is known for its crisp, dry white wines made from Chardonnay, made without the influence of oak. Some of the best domaines in Chablis include William Fèvre and Christian Moreau. The Côte d'Or is the heart of the Burgundy wine region and is divided into two main areas: the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune. The Côte de Nuits is known for its red wines, while the Côte de Beaune is known for its white wines. The best domaines in the Côte d'Or include Domaine de la Romanée-Conti and Domaine Georges Roumier! Mâconnais and often overlooked Côte Chalonnaise produces red and white wines. Some of the best domaines in these regions include Domaine Bouchard Père et Fils and Domaine Jean-Jacques Girard.
