Details
This is great, a wine that captures the essence of lean Macabeo (Macabeu), with pithy green notes of celery and grass, overlapping with slightly waxier, more honeyed character at the same time. A wine of focus and concentration, with good length and brightness.
Domaine des Enfants, nestled in the rugged terrain of Maury, in France's Roussillon region, is a beacon of artisanal winemaking. Established in 2006 by Marcel Bühler and Carrie Sumner, this small-scale winery has garnered widespread acclaim for its commitment to crafting wines of exceptional quality and character. At Domaine des Enfants, the focus is on organic and biodynamic practices, with a deep respect for the land and its natural rhythms. The vineyards, scattered across steep hillsides and rocky soils, are home to a diverse array of grape varieties, including Grenache, Carignan, and Syrah, among others. Each bottle of Domaine des Enfants wine is a testament to the unique terroir of Maury, expressing the region's rugged beauty and distinctive flavours. From vibrant and mineral-driven reds to taut whites, the wines are a reflection of the passion and dedication of the winemaking team. A recent discovery for us at Good Pair Days, check out their 10% 'Chroma Soma' Grenache - it's delicious!

Pairing guide
You’ve got to give it to the team at Domaine des Enfants - this Macabeo is absolutely delicious, and exactly the kind of wine we want to be sipping as the days get longer and warmer. It’s a top match for chicken and fish dishes with a tropical fruit twist; halibut with mango, prawn and grapefruit salad, chicken with pineapple and papaya would all be great options to go for. We also loved it with a seafood paella, and it’s brilliant with all kinds of goat’s cheese salads, too. What’s not to like?
