Details
It's becoming harder and harder to find real value in Burgundy these days, so when we came across this wine there was no question, we had to have it! Juicy red fruits meet truffle, thyme and rosemary. This is vibrant, with tension and bright sour cherry fruit with a lick of bramble. Delightful Pinot!
The Collotte family are originally from Marsannay in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, and whilst they craft (and specialise) in a range of cru wines from the Marsannay appellation, like many Burgundian vignerons, they also own parcels across the region. Since her childhood, it has been a dream for Isabelle Collotte to one day make her own mark on the estate, and in 2014 her wish came true as she was brought into the fold. The family own a modest 16 hectares of vineyard parcels, including Chambolle-Musigny, Fixin and Gevrey-Chambertin. Isabelle has learnt from her father, Phillippe, that everything starts in the vineyard, and that each vine has its own character. With their philosophy, the team are careful not to control their vines and respect the biodiversity and flora and fauna of their local surroundings. They are careful to treat each of their individual terroirs with the utmost respect and take a pragmatic, yet reactive approach every year to their winemaking. After all, no two years are ever the same.

Pairing guide
We love how impressively versatile this elegant Pinot Noir is, and it’s sure to be a real crowd-pleaser at any festive party or gathering of friends, family and food. It’s a top choice for serving alongside steak and chips, and will work equally well with a Christmas roast chicken, turkey, duck or goose. Stuffed chicken breasts (especially when stuffed with garlic and cheese, mushrooms, or truffle) are an excellent option to consider, and it’s also brilliant with roast vegetables, beetroot risotto, leaner game meats, mushrooms and ragu sauces.

Wine region

Burgundy, France
Burgundy is located east between Paris and the Swiss border and is known for producing some of the finest and most sought-after wines (Chardonnay and Pinot Noir) in the world. The region can be divided into the following sub-regions from north to south: Chablis, Côte d'Or, Côte Chalonnaise, and Mâconnais, with parts Beaujolais to the south now under consideration.
Chablis is located north of the Côte d'Or and is known for its crisp, dry white wines made from Chardonnay, made without the influence of oak. Some of the best domaines in Chablis include William Fèvre and Christian Moreau.
The Côte d'Or is the heart of the Burgundy wine region and is divided into two main areas: the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune. The Côte de Nuits is known for its red wines, while the Côte de Beaune is known for its white wines. The best domaines in the Côte d'Or include Domaine de la Romanée-Conti and Domaine Georges Roumier!
Mâconnais and often overlooked Côte Chalonnaise produces red and white wines. Some of the best domaines in these regions include Domaine Bouchard Père et Fils and Domaine Jean-Jacques Girard.
