Details
Meet Susumaniello - Puglia’s best-kept secret and probably the most fun grape name to say after two glasses (go on, try it). This rosé is like a beach party in a bottle: bursting with juicy summer berries, a splash of pomegranate, and just the right amount of sass. Balanced, refreshing, and total proof that rare indigenous varieties have major main-character energy.
In the sun-drenched heart of Puglia, where olive groves stretch to the horizon and the breeze smells faintly of wild herbs and sea spray, you’ll find Tenuta Viglione - a family-run winery with deep roots and serious vision where the Zullo family have been cultivating vineyards since 1937. Whilst Primitivo has made it's name of the hall-of-fame, Puglia still holds a few aces up its sun-tanned sleeve - grapes like Susumaniello and Negroamaro, local treasures that are just getting their global moment. This is where Costellazioni comes in: Tenuta Viglione’s premium label, crafted to showcase these varieties at their most elegant, expressive, and celestial (yes, the name literally means constellations). Each wine in the Costellazioni range is a nod to the stars above and the soil below - sustainable, wild yeast, organically grown, and vegan. It’s serious wine with a soul - and a lot of swagger! So while we can’t teleport you to a lounge chair by the pool at the Viglione wine resort (believe us, we wish we could), we can instead bring a bit of that Puglian magic to your glass. So the stars really do align!

Pairing guide
This rosé is the kind of guest who shows up to the picnic with a Bluetooth speaker, a killer playlist, and exactly the right amount of chilled attitude. Juicy, fresh, and just the right amount of tangy - it wants to hang with food that’s fun and unfussy. Try it with prosciutto and melon skewers, because sweet + salty + rosé = true love. Watermelon and feta salad, grilled shrimp tacos with lime slaw - light, bright, and ready for rosé-fueled dance moves. Or a summery tomato galette. Basically, if your meal could be eaten barefoot in the sun, this rosé is perfect. Bonus points for picnic blankets and pool floats.

Wine region

Puglia, Italy
Puglia is a wine region in the "heel" of Italy that is known for its red, white, and rosé wines. The full-bodied red wines are often made with Negroamaro and Primitivo grapes, while the whites are usually made with Verdeca and Fiano grapes. Puglia has a hot, sunny climate which helps the grapes ripen fully and gives the wines a rich flavour. The region is also home to some unique grape varieties, like Nero di Troia and Bombino Nero. So, if you're a fan of Italian wine, definitely give Puglia a try! Historically Puglia has been better known for its quantity of wine over its quality. But thanks to a number of quality-focused producers, the region is turning that narrative around.
