Details
This isn’t your poolside pink - this is rosé with depth, swagger, and a crown. Château de Manissy’s Tête de Cuvée is the OG of the estate, and it shows up like a seasoned headliner: rich, layered, and unapologetically bold. Expect ripe quince and dried orange peel on the nose. There’s a whisper of barrel-aged silkiness, wrapped in subtle exotic spice and almonds. Biodynamic, barrel-aged, and beautifully dry - this is rosé with structure, soul, and serious food-pairing game. Don’t serve it too cold, and definitely don’t underestimate it.

Château de Manissy isn’t just another pretty estate in the Rhône Valley - it’s a legacy wrapped in vines dating back over a century, with roots deep in history and a future firmly planted in sustainability. Once owned by the Lafarge family, these historic vineyards have been lovingly stewarded since 1914. Fast forward to today, and winemaker Florian André is carrying that torch with serious respect, turning the estate fully biodynamic since 2009. The goal? Craft wines that shout terroir with every sip, while keeping the environment happy and healthy. Because, as Florian says, “We’re the first to drink our wines - they better be good and safe.” What does that look like in practice? No chemical shortcuts here - just old-school care with a modern green heart. In the vineyard, copper and sulphur in minimal doses, mechanical weed control, and lots of preventive love keep the vines thriving naturally. Inside the cellar, nitrogen blankets protect the juice, slashing the need for sulphites. The crown jewel? Their iconic Tête de Cuvée, a barrel-aged rosé that’s been winning hearts for decades. Spread across 60 hectares in Tavel, Lirac, Côtes du Rhône, and even a tiny slice of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Château de Manissy is all about marrying history, nature, and serious winemaking skill to create wines that are pure, powerful, and totally unforgettable.

Pairing guide
This is the kind of rosé that loves a little adventure on the plate. Its richness makes it a dream with North African flavours - think chicken or lamb tagine with apricots, preserved lemon, and warm spices like cinnamon and cumin. It’s magic with smoky harissa too, so try it alongside grilled merguez sausages or a roasted eggplant zaalouk. For a veg-forward vibe, go with jollof rice, peanut stew, or a Moroccan carrot salad with orange blossom and toasted almonds. The wine’s layered fruit and subtle oak wrap around these dishes like a velvet robe - exotic, earthy, and just the right amount of wild.
