Details
The pretty blush of pink in the glass here is a clue - this is Champagne with a fruity, floral heart. Red apple, red berries and peach on the nose, with gorgeous notes of peony and white flowers, a whisper of brioche and almonds, and a fresh saline finish. Totally charming, and 100% Pinot Meunier.
The Serveaux story starts in 1952 with a man, a plot of land, and absolutely no money. Georges Serveaux arrived in the Marne Valley with borrowed funds and the kind of determination that makes for great wine. Legend has it he found a walnut tree on his plot, sold it to a timber merchant, and used the proceeds to keep things going. The 15-hectare estate he built from scratch is now in its third generation, run by siblings Hugo, Elodie, and Nicolas, who are firmly fixed on moving things forward. Serveaux are specialists in Pinot Meunier - a grape often overlooked in favour of Champagne's more famous varieties but which absolutely thrives in the limestone and clay soils of the Marne Valley. The family are proud members of the Meunier Institut, championing the grape loud and clear. Every bottle goes through a minimum 36 months of lees ageing and is finished with lower than usual dosage, letting the quality of the fruit do the talking. They're sustainably certified and work organically where possible too!

Pairing guide
The floral, fruity character here makes this the ultimate pre-dinner drink - but it's even better with food. Try this fab Champers with seared scallops, lobster, a prawn cocktail, or a delicate charcuterie board where the saline finish gets to shine. For a vegan option, marinated artichoke hearts with roasted cherry tomatoes and crusty sourdough is a surprisingly brilliant match. Light, elegant and completely impossible to resist.

Champagne, France
Champagne is the ultimate party starter! This sparkling wine hails from the famous chalky soils of the Champagne region in northern France and is made using a special method called "méthode champenoise" that gives it its signature bubbles. Pop open a bottle of Champagne at your next celebration and watch the good times and fizz flow! Whether you prefer a dry Brut or a sweeter Demi-Sec, there's a Champagne for every occasion. There are three main grape varieties used in the region, these are Pinot Noir (red), Pinot Meunier (also red) and Chardonnay (white). Each of these brings a unique set of characteristics to Champagne.
