Details
Ripe peach, apricot and nectarine take centre stage here, with red apple and lemon in the wings. Vanilla bean, brioche and grilled nuts add real depth, and earthy undergrowth brings a wild and intriguing edge. This is an organic Champagne with amazing complexity.
The Gremillet story begins with a gift - in 1979, Jean-Michel Gremillet inherited a small plot of vines from his mother, Lulu, and decided to make something of it. Fast forward to today, and that tiny inheritance has grown into 55 hectares of vineyards on the steep, sun-drenched hillsides of the Côte des Bar in the Aube, around 45km from Troyes - a corner of Champagne that doesn't get nearly enough credit. Pinot Noir is king at Gremillet, making up around 80% of the vineyard. The family ages their NV cuvées for two years - well beyond the legal minimum - and vintage wines for at least five, because good things take time. Sustainability is a serious priority: HVE3-certified since 2020, with an organic cuvée and solar panels installed in 2024 to power the winery. They've even turned grape growing into a community affair, supplying fruit to over 80 other Champagne makers across the region.

Pairing guide
The depth and complexity on this Champers deserves food with substance. It's gorgeous alongside roast chicken with a peach and thyme sauce, seared duck breast, or a beautiful piece of turbot. The vanilla and brioche notes love a ripe, funky cheese too - try it with an aged Époisses if you're feeling adventurous. For a vegan option, roasted cauliflower with toasted almonds and lemon is a brilliant match, the wine's stone fruit richness playing off the caramelised edges perfectly.

Champagne, France
Champagne is the ultimate party starter! This sparkling wine hails from the famous chalky soils of the Champagne region in northern France and is made using a special method called "méthode champenoise" that gives it its signature bubbles. Pop open a bottle of Champagne at your next celebration and watch the good times and fizz flow! Whether you prefer a dry Brut or a sweeter Demi-Sec, there's a Champagne for every occasion. There are three main grape varieties used in the region, these are Pinot Noir (red), Pinot Meunier (also red) and Chardonnay (white). Each of these brings a unique set of characteristics to Champagne.
