Details
Bright and juicy straight out the gate, the nose is all fresh orchard vibes. Green apple and pear skin lead the charge, with lemon, lime, white peach and a flash of pineapple for lift. There’s a pretty hint of apple blossom too, and the finish brings a gentle bite of green almond and apple pith. This is grown-up wine with some great complexity!
Origin: Burgundy, in eastern France. Mainly Grown In: France, USA, Australia, Italy, Chile, South Africa, Argentina, Spain, NZ… all over, really! Key Facts: Chardonnay is one flexible, sassy grape. It grew up in a place called Burgundy in France, and has travelled to California, Australia, other parts of France, South America... all over the world basically. It can be zesty and fresh in cooler climates, and richer and creamier in warmer ones. It's also one of the few white varieties that performs just as well when treated with oak as it does without. This winemaking change can also affect the body and texture of the wine, leading to a totally different drinking experience. So remember, not all Chardonnays are alike, but we've picked only the best ones for you :) Fun Fact: Chardonnay is a small commune in France, which was formerly known as Cardonnacum — possibly derived from the Latin carduus, or "thistle". So "Chardonnay" actually translates to the "place of thistles".

Pairing guide
This wine thrives with fresh, punchy dishes. Think ceviche-style scallops with citrus and olive oil, or a classic chicken schnitzel with lemon and herbs. For something a little different, try ricotta dumplings with brown butter, sage and lemon zest. For a vegan win: shaved fennel, green apple and almond salad with dill and lemon, or grilled asparagus with caper vinaigrette and toasted almonds. Basically crunchy, bright food pairs perfectly with this crisp white.
