Cantina Imperatori can be found just south of the country's capital of Rome. Imperatori's key goal is a simple one: to revive and rediscover the native, indigenous grape varieties that have been cultivated throughout Lazio for millennia and whilst doing so, to maintain the natural balance of nature and biodiversity both within their vineyards and the wider, macro-environment. The team works with a number of grape types, some more recognisable than others, from Cabernet Sauvignon and Trebbiano to Malvasia and the local Cesanese red grape type. Amphorae are also employed throughout the winemaking process as the winemaking team is keen not only to work with the region's historical grape varieties but also to uphold ancient winemaking traditions as well.
