Details
The Dieciemezzo Syrah is a juicy, fruit-forward red with serious charm and just the right amount of spice. Think ripe blueberries, blackberry jam, and a mix of red and black cherries, all wrapped up with a twist of black pepper for a little kick. It’s smooth, vibrant, and full of flavour without going heavy - totally vegan, sustainably made, and perfect for midweek dinners or weekend chill-outs.

Origin: The first recognised wines were made in the Rhône Valley and south-eastern France. Mainly Grown In: One of the world’s leading grapes, it is found in France, Australia, the USA, Argentina and South Africa. Key Facts: Shiraz (or Syrah) is a world-beater. Starting small in the southern reaches of France, it has spread to all corners of the world, and is known for producing some of the world’s great red wines, capable of perfume, power and persistence. Wines made and labelled as 'Shiraz' are luscious and fruity, loaded with plum, raisin and plenty of oaky richness. European, or cooler climate expressions are often labelled as and referred to as 'Syrah', these can be more savoury and tend towards flavours of olive, black cherry and pepper. Both are equally delicious, and are simply a matter of taste! Fun Fact: There’s a small town in Iran called Shiraz, where to some people the grape may have originally been grown as an eating grape!

Pairing guide
The Dieciemezzo Syrah is all about big flavour with chill energy, so bring on the food that matches the vibe. Try it with harissa-roasted aubergine, smoky lentil tacos, or a wild mushroom and black garlic flatbread. It’s also a dream with sticky BBQ jackfruit, crispy tofu with chilli glaze, or a spicy noodle stir-fry. Want something meatier? Go for grilled lamb koftas, peppery steak frites, or slow-cooked beef with smoked paprika. Snack-wise - truffle crisps, charred corn with paprika, or a wedge of mature cheddar (vegan or not) are all solid moves. If your food’s bold, this Syrah’s ready to pair up.

Wine region
Sicily, Italy
Sicily is a productive island located in the Mediterranean Sea, off the southern coast of Italy. The island has a varied landscape, with low coastal plains to hills and even active volcanic mountains. The climate is Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers and mild winters. Disease pressure is low thanks to drying coastal breezes making the region ideal for organic farming practices. The soils are volcanic, sandy, and clay. Sicily can be divided into three wine regions, including the volcanic Etna DOC on the eastern side of the island, known for its red wines made from the Nerello Mascalese grape. The Marsala DOC on the island's western side is known for its fortified wines. The remaining Southeast of the Island produces a range of wines, notably Frappato and Nero d’Avola.
