Details
We call this a 'blanc de noirs' - a white made from red grapes. Close to a rosé if you will, but with less colour! This is tropical on the nose. It's a wine of intrigue, with notes of banana skin, stone fruit and pear drops.
Bodegas Aessir is all about crafting top-notch wines with a strong sense of place. Based in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, Barcelona—Cava country—they kicked things off in 1929 by breathing new life into a historic cellar and focusing on native grape varieties. Their Cava Star La Crusset Brut Nature Reserva has racked up plenty of international praise, proving that they know their bubbles. Not content with just one region, Aessir took things up a notch with a bold project in Cuenca, where they produce organic wines from the Bobal grape. Perched at 969 meters near the stunning Cabriel River Natural Reserve, these old-vine wines (some over 60 years old) bring serious character to the table. And the adventure doesn’t stop there—Aessir has also set up shop in DO Terra Alta, Tarragona. Here, at 480 meters altitude, they focus on white Grenache and produce three unique wines from calcareous-clay soils. One standout, "El Cavall de Barcelona," even features a label designed by sculptor Xavier Dols.

Castilla-La Mancha, Spain
La Mancha is a wine region in Spain known for its hot and dry climate, high altitude vineyards, and significant grape production the top sub-regions are Almansa, Jumilla, and Manchuela, each with its own unique wine styles. The terroir across these regions can be characterized by the high chalk content of its soil, which helps to retain moisture during the arid summers. The top wine styles produced in La Mancha are primarily red wines made from the Tempranillo grape, including the well-known Crianza and the top tier Reserva styles, as well as Garnacha, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah. However, the region also produces some white wines made from the fruity Airen grape, which is a native varietal of La Mancha and one of the most widely planted white grape varieties in the world.
