Details
Bodega Tres Pilares are something of Verdejo specialists and that is certainly not hard to see once you get your hands on this lovely wine. This is a more approachable iteration of Rueda's favourite grape variety, with a lovely weight in the mouth as well as a piney element. The nose is dominated by ripe, golden orchard fruit and a whisper of yellow bubblegum.
Bodega Tres Pilares (translating to the three pillars) is home to Juan Antonio, Eustaquio and Jaime; three brothers who work tirelessly in their modern winery in Rueda, one of Spain's most famous white wine regions and the home of the Verdejo grape variety. Rueda is a mixed bag of micro-climates and altitudes, with the latter element playing a vital role in producing high-quality fruit for winemaking. Searing temperatures through the summer growing season are mitigated by cool, high-altitude nights which are essential to retaining the all-important acidity and freshness of their crops. Each of the three brothers brings their own unique set of skills and talents to the table; Eustiquano oversees the winemaking element and operations, whilst Jamie works diligently in the vineyard with his team, and finally, Juan Antonio, the President, looks after the overall business, operations and exports. As an almost exclusive single variety [Verdejo] producer, Tres Pilares are at the forefront of innovation when it comes to the often generalised wine styles coming out of Rueda, these are some of the most exciting iterations of Verdejo you will find in Spain.

Pairing guide
It’s almost impossible to overstate our love for a great bottle of Verdejo, and this release from Tres Pilares definitely sets our passions further alight. It’s a top-notch food pairing wine, and will work brilliantly with seafood salads and risottos, white fish like bass, bream, cod and halibut, and with simple grilled prawns slicked with garlic and chilli. Wild garlic dishes, pesto pasta, and grilled chicken breast creations will also work a treat.

Wine region
Rueda, Spain
Rueda is a small but mighty wine region in northwestern Spain known for its refreshing and aromatic white wines made primarily from the Verdejo grape. The region's high altitude and continental climate contribute to the wines' unique flavour profile, which is characterised by bright acidity and intense aromas. In addition to Verdejo, Rueda also produces wines from Sauvignon Blanc and Viura grapes. So, grab a glass of Rueda and enjoy the flavours of this vibrant and dynamic region!
