Details
This is a typical New World style of Sauvignon Blanc that is alive with notes of citrus, passionfruit and papaya. True to Savvy B form, there is a welcome grassy, bell pepper and celery quality at play as this wine walks the tightrope between tropical and green; creamy yet lean.
Kevin Swart, Raymond Ndlovu and Jacques Wentzel conceived Black Elephant Vintners to combine their collective passion for wine and deep love of Franschhoek with a desire to bring the region's wines to the fore, as well as their playful nature which they insist upon through their culture of winemaking. Each member of this trio brings their own unique skillset to Black Elephant. Head winemaker Jacques is not only responsible for producing the team's impressive, fun and playful range of wines, but he is also the head viticulturist and oversees all of the estate's vineyard operations as well. Raymond and Kevin both come from a finance background. The team is focused on tearing down the silos of the wine industry and making it a more fun place to both work and consume everybody's favourite grape juice. With labels such as 'Three Men in a Tub' and 'Two Dogs, A Peacock & A Horse', you can get a feel for the team's approach to wine, and life - it's very much in keeping with our own!

Pairing guide
This rather brilliantly-named Sauvignon Blanc from Black Elephant really delivers when it comes to flavour, freshness, and food-friendliness. All that zest and brightness makes this beautiful wine the perfect match for green salads, green vegetable dishes, and lighter chicken and fish dishes. It’s going to pair especially well with anything drizzled in citrus and herb sauces, and throwing some soft cheese or goats’ cheese into the mix is sure to bring success!
