Details
This dry red, lightly sparkling frizzante is made from the red grape Raboso. It is bursting with oodles of red cherry fruit and liquorice. This sparkler is bright and vibrant from top to bottom with a lovely tension and purity of fruit throughout that finishes with a wonderful black cherry character in the mouth and some attractive florality.
Bervini are a recent find for us here at Good Pair Days, one that we discovered on a recent trip to Italy in search of winey gold - and we certainly found some here! Bervini's wines are eyecatching, to say the least, and we have to admit, it was their awesome labels and packaging that caught our eye in the first place... then we tasted their wines. The team farm all of their vineyards according to organic practice and believe that their lands must be as at one with nature as possible. When you taste Bervini's wines, you can feel not only a sense of place but purity and energy that runs through the spine of all of their portfolio. Speaking of their portfolio, they produce fabulous single varietal wines from the well-known varieties Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot and Pinot Noir (Nero), as well as working with Ribolla Gialla, Friulano and Raboso, the latter of which is made into a fabulous semi-sparkling fizz. Bervini has a really smart operation going down in Italy. The combination of pure and honest winemaking and working with a host of different grape types and styles, packaged into some quite beautiful bottles can only be a recipe for success.
