Details
This Viognier-Marsanne-Roussanne blend is anything but your average white - it’s like spring in technicolor. On the nose, it’s wildly unique: think beeswax, honeycomb, and sweet herbal vibes, with flashes of Parma violets and a cheeky twist of liquorice. Then come the stone fruits - juicy peaches and nectarines - floating in a haze of floral honeysuckle. On the palate, it’s round, plump, and textural, but lifted by just the right touch of acidity to keep things fresh.

Aya Estate Vineyards isn’t just a winery - it’s a vibrant tribute to beauty, heritage, and terroir. Named after the Japanese word Aya, meaning “design, colourful, beautiful,” the estate weaves together centuries of tradition with a fresh, modern energy. Nestled in Bulgaria’s Melnik region - the country’s southwestern gem - Aya manages 35 hectares of rolling, sun-kissed vineyards, many of them over 50 years old. With south-facing slopes perched between 250–330 meters in altitude, their vines soak up warm Mediterranean breezes from the Aegean, while cool mountain air keeps things fresh. It’s a rare and perfect tension - hot days, cool nights, and those striking Melnik sandstone soils - that gives their wines incredible aromatic lift and balance. At the heart of Aya’s story is a deep respect for the land and its native grapes, especially the wild and wonderful Wide Melnik - a rare, local variety they’ve committed to preserving through biodynamic farming. These old vines, along with cherished plantings of Cabernet Franc, produce soulful, site-driven wines that speak of place. But they’re not stopping there: Aya brings the colour with a cast of characters including Syrah, Sangiovese, Marsanne, Viognier, and even Sandanski Misket, all thriving in this diverse and dynamic landscape. In every bottle, you’ll taste the intersection of history, innovation, and serious love for the vine.

Pairing guide
This dreamy Viognier-Marsanne-Roussanne blend is made for laid-back alfresco vibes and dishes with a little texture and fragrance. Think herby roast chicken with preserved lemon, or grilled halloumi with peach and mint salad. The wine’s honeyed, waxy notes also pair beautifully with soft cheeses - try it with a wedge of Saint-Marcellin or a dollop of whipped ricotta on crusty sourdough, drizzled with olive oil and thyme. For something lighter, go for a fennel, orange, and olive salad or cold poached salmon with dill yogurt. Basically, if you’re packing a fancy picnic or throwing a slow lunch in the garden, this is the bottle to bring.
