Details
Pale and pretty in the glass, this wine is intensely floral - roses, violets, even a touch of Turkish delight. Bright red fruits like cherry, raspberry and redcurrant lead the way, with sweet spice and a hint of vanilla. On the palate, it flips the script: chalky, earthy and savoury, with tobacco, dried herbs, and a lick of charred wood. It's light-bodied, dry, and super fresh - think smoky Pinot with a floral twist. Chill it for max charm.

Agustín Lanús and a dedicated group of winemakers are pushing the limits of viticulture in Argentina’s remote Calchaquí Valley, where vineyards cling to some of the highest altitudes in the world - between 1,650 and 3,100 meters above sea level. These extreme conditions present enormous challenges: harsh weather swings, tough access, and the constant battle to nurture vines in a high desert environment. But the payoff is remarkable. The combination of intense sunlight, cool nights, and long ripening periods produces wines with incredible concentration, vibrant fruit, and complex tannins - qualities that research confirms improve with altitude. Agustín’s journey began in 2006, driven by a passion to explore and master these unique micro-terroirs scattered across Salta, Tucumán, and Santa María provinces. With a wealth of international experience and advanced studies in viticulture and oenology, he has not only crafted exceptional wines but also helped develop vineyards that celebrate the distinct character of this high-altitude desert landscape. Based in Cafayate, the heart of the Calchaquí Valley, Agustín Lanús Wines captures the spirit of this rugged land, offering a rare glimpse into one of Argentina’s best-kept vinous secrets.

Pairing guide
This smoky, floral red with bright acidity and light tannins pairs beautifully with dishes that have a bit of char and spice but won’t overpower its delicate complexity. Try grilled herb-marinated chicken or a spiced duck breast with a cherry glaze. For a vegan option, roasted portobello mushrooms with garlic and thyme or a smoky grilled eggplant salad with roasted red peppers and fresh herbs will complement the wine’s savoury, smoky character perfectly. If you’re in the mood for something casual, a charcuterie board featuring cured meats, olives, roasted nuts, and aged cheeses balances beautifully with the wine’s acidity and floral layers. Keep your dishes fresh and flavourful but not too heavy, so the wine’s complexity can truly shine.
