The world of pink wine - not from Provence - £60
Rosé! Beyond Provence
1. Zephyr 'MK' Rosé 2021
Rosé from Malrborough in New Zealand. Zephyr Wines is a boutique winery located in the Marlborough region of New Zealand, renowned for producing elegant and expressive wines that capture the essence of the region's unique terroir. Established in 2007 by Ben Glover, a winemaker with deep roots in Marlborough’s wine industry, Zephyr Wines is celebrated for its focus on sustainable viticulture and innovative winemaking practices. Crunchy notes of raspberry and cranberry present themselves in this Pinot Noir-based rosé from New Zealand. This is clean, pure and crisp, with plenty of likeability and even more drinkability. Expect subtle notes of truffle and mandarin on the finish.
2. Daisy Rosé 2022
Rosé from the Limestone Coast in South Australia. The Good Pair Days wine team are always on the lookout for the most exciting wineries and regions to work with. Luckily, there are plenty of good folk around and we discovered the Limestone Coast Winemakers (LCW) a few years ago. Ever since they have been producing knock out after knock out for us under their own labels, Vandenberg and Hidden Sea and it made sense for us to work with them on our own label, Daisy. The wines have been a roaring success in Australia and we thought it was time for the UK to jump on board. The Daisy Rosé will be your perfect accompaniment for the next picnic down at the local park along with all the standard fare of cheese and meats. This rosé has a nice, not so in your face, pale pink hue with turkish delight, musk and aromatic spicy notes balanced nicely by sweet red fruit, a hint of sugar and plenty of texture.
3. Anastasia Fragou Rosé 2023
Rosé from Attica in Greece. Anastasia Fragou Winery is a delightful, small-scale winery located in Attica, north of Athens, Greece. Founded by the passionate Anastasia Fragou, this boutique winery is all about quality over quantity. With just a few carefully cultivated hectares, Anastasia and her team produce limited batches of wine that truly capture the spirit of the region. This Rosé is made from Agiorgitiko, one of Greece's most prolific red grapes. It has a lovely pale colour in the glass, with notes of ripe strawberries and citrus freshness. The fruit on the palate is tart, with a taut mouthfeel and lovely freshness, leading to a vivid, bright finish.
