The world of pink wine - not from Provence - £70
Rosé! Beyond Provence
Heretat Mascorrubí 'In Annat' Rosé 2022
Rosé from Penedès in Spain. Heretat Mascorrubí is a pretty lo-fi outfit operating at altitude out of Spain's Catalonia province in Penedès. The team's unwavering focus on local grape varieties and relatively natural winemaking have made them a seriously popular go-to locally, and we are delighted to bring their wines here to the UK finally. Made from 100% Sumoll, this is an orange-tinged rosé wine with plenty of oxidative character. It's gastronomic, with smoky notes and hints of fino sherry, salt and orange peel. Thought-provoking and well worth a try for anybody looking for something a little different.
Domaine les Luquettes 'Mont-Caume' Rosé
Rosé from Bandol in France. Perched in the idyllic hills of Bandol, Domaine les Luquettes embodies the rugged charm of Provence with a touch of elegance. Here, the sunshine-soaked terraces are dedicated to Mourvèdre, the king of Bandol’s reds, along with a touch of Grenache and Cinsault, creating wines that seem to capture the very essence of the Mediterranean. 70% Cinsault, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. This is a rosé with real depth and character, layered with red fruit appeal and intense candied cherry flavour and ripe strawberry.
Anastasia Fragou Rosé 2023
Rosé from Attica in Greece. Anastasia Fragou Winery is a delightful, small-scale winery located in Attica, north of Athens, Greece. Founded by the passionate Anastasia Fragou, this boutique winery is all about quality over quantity. With just a few carefully cultivated hectares, Anastasia and her team produce limited batches of wine that truly capture the spirit of the region. This Rosé is made from Agiorgitiko, one of Greece's most prolific red grapes. It has a lovely pale colour in the glass, with notes of ripe strawberries and citrus freshness. The fruit on the palate is tart, with a taut mouthfeel and lovely freshness, leading to a vivid, bright finish.
