Story
Nestled in the rolling countryside of Herefordshire, Lucky 7 Brewery is a vibrant gem in the heart of England’s cider and ale country. Founded by the passionate and adventurous brewer Tom “Lucky” Evans, the brewery has become known for blending traditional British brewing techniques with playful, modern twists.
From crisp session ales to bold, hop-forward IPAs and rich stouts, Lucky 7’s beer range offers something for every palate, all crafted with a keen eye for quality and creativity.
The brewery’s story began in a small, converted barn, where Tom experimented with recipes inspired by both local ingredients and his travels. Over time, Lucky 7 has grown into a destination in its own right, welcoming beer enthusiasts to its welcoming taproom and lively tasting room, where visitors can enjoy fresh pours straight from the tanks.
In addition to their flagship site, their beers are increasingly featured in local pubs and pop-up venues across Herefordshire and beyond.
With a commitment to community, flavour, and fun, Lucky 7 Brewery combines Herefordshire heritage with modern brewing innovation—making every pint not just a drink, but a celebration of craft beer ingenuity.
We've been very excited to get this next brew in from Lucky 7 since we tried it for the first time! 'Beertrix Porter' is a dark, velvety brew that balances rich chocolate and coffee notes with a subtle roastiness, making it a perfect choice for those seeking depth without overwhelming bitterness. Smooth and complex, it’s a true showcase of Lucky 7’s brewing skill and inventive spirit. Needless to say it's an absolute knockout too!

PAIRING GUIDE
Hay-on-Wye’s beloved Lucky 7 craft brewery isn’t afraid to do things a little differently, hence this cheekily-naked porter beer that offers a deep, seductive and thoroughly satisfying whack of flavour in every sip. Porter beers are a firm favourite of ours at Good Pair Days, and this beautiful number is right up there with the best we’ve tried all year. It’s going to pair fantastically well with steamed mussels and other shellfish (especially grilled and breaded oysters), and it’s also great with braised beef, lamb or venison, game pies, buttery mushroom dishes and anything with lots of umami-bomb ingredients like miso and aubergine, too.
