Story
Blackwater Distillery was created by Peter Mulryan, a TV presenter who had a passion for Whiskey, which included writing a couple of books on the subject. Peter’s interest turned from drinker to owner, when he purchased an old hardware store and converted it into a distillery. Blackwater is named after the nearby river, which is referred to as ‘An Abhainn Mhor’ or the big river, which winds its way through southern Ireland between the counties of Cork and Waterford.
The distillery obviously has an eye for making fine Irish Whiskey with several that are worth pouring a peg or two, however they have also moved into making some lovely gin and vodka. One of the key ingredients in gin and whiskey is the source of water, and when you venture to the distillery, you’ll be transported to a place of beauty where it is easy to see that the water source is as pure as you can get.
Made with real Irish strawberries (no artificial flavours here!), this is a delightful pink gin bursting with character and flavour, with notes of strawberries and cream.

PAIRING GUIDE
Coming from the beautiful Wexford coastline in Ireland, this strawberry-infused gin might help you forget that winter is far from over. It’s a delicious addition to your spirits collection, and one that’s perfect for mixing with a tonic or into your favourite cocktail and serving alongside some tasty treats. It goes without saying that dishes featuring soft summer berries will work best with this one, especially if there’s a decent mix of sweet and savoury going on in each mouthful. Asian salads with mango and strawberry, couscous dishes with pomegranate and almonds, lamb chops with a fruity jus or charcuterie with dried fruit and cheese are all highly recommended here, and it’s equally good with lighter fruit pastries and desserts.
