Story
Meet Amity Brew Co, a vibrant, community-fuelled brewery that sprang to life in 2020 amid the chaos of the pandemic. Based originally in the historic textile-mill complex of Sunny Bank Mills in Farsley (West Leeds), the founders, Russ Clarke, Verity Clarke and Richard Degnan, brought together decades of craft-beer know-how to build something rooted in community, friendship and good beer.
Walking into their cosy taproom you’ll find a warm, friendly atmosphere with comfy sofas, soft lighting and a beer garden that catches the setting sun, perfect for a local pint or a chilled catch-up.
Their beer range is broad and playful: expect fresh, modern takes on classic styles and interesting experiments, from American pales and lagers to barrel-aged batches and seasonal specials.
In 2025, Amity stepped into a new era by moving full-scale brewing operations just a few miles away to Albion Mills in Greengates, Bradford, a move spurred by growing demand and a major expansion plan. Meanwhile their original Farsley bar remains open and is being upgraded into a full-time hospitality hub with a kitchen, more seating and even room for events.
From a lockdown-era brew dream to a booming regional favourite, Amity Brew Co now serves up pints with perfectly balanced hops, local pride and a warm Yorkshire welcome.
Our first selection with Amity this month is one of their standout brews 'Weavers'. It’s a delicious gluten-free pale ale, now with a fresh look. At 4.0% ABV, it’s super sessionable and brewed with Chinook, Idaho 7, Nelson Sauvin and Simcoe hops. A bright, balanced beer made for easy, all-afternoon drinking.

PAIRING GUIDE
The area around Leeds has been the heart of reliable brewery country for centuries, and Amity Brew Co is all about bringing some vibrant modern craft classics to a long-standing Yorkshire heritage of excellence. The GF pale ale is a fantastic example of what they do best – all that bright, hoppy character makes for a seriously satisfying drink, and one that pairs with plenty of delicious food. We loved this beer with smoked fish dishes, hearty pies and pastries and all kinds of roasted white meats with all the trimmings. Battered and breaded fish will also work well, as will a GF Yorkshire pudding with sausages, onion and plenty of gravy, of course!
