Will I be locked in?

Accepted Answer

You can cancel, skip months or change your delivery frequency at any time. Once you log into your account, it's just a couple of clicks to make changes and to manage your subscription settings.

How much does it cost?

Accepted Answer

There’s no subscription or members fee. You just pay for your specific bottles and you’ve got full control over what price range you prefer. It’s free shipping when you get 4 bottles or more in a box. Less than that and we charge a flat £5 fee for shipping UK wide.

Question 3

What if I don't like my recommended wines from the quiz?

Although the quiz is often very accurate, it can't understand all you wonderful wine lovers. If this is you, we recommend building your own box by selecting your own bottles from our wines page to start. This will lock in your first colour and price preferences. Then make sure you rate your bottles accurately so our recommendation engine starts to learn about your tastes.

What do the wines come with?

Apart from your beautiful bottles, unless you opt out, we send a bunch of printed wine education materials. Including Wine and Grape Information & Recipe Cards and Leaflets as well as a series of Wine 101 education leaflets with you first 6-9 boxes, and other education materials depending on your order. As well as samples goods when available depending on your membership level. 
We sell these items independently and they can be purchased on the store separately. However when they are included automatically in a member’s order with a purchase with a minimum of 3 bottles, we offer an equivalent discount on your total box cost so you aren’t out of pocket for them. 
You'll also earn points and get rewards along the way just for tasting your bottles!

Can I choose my own wines each month?

You can always make swaps or changes up until we start packing your box on the morning after billing. Or if you know exactly what you want for a month, you can go in at any time and replace your "to be recommended" bottles with your own selections in advance.

How do we choose our wines and where do they come from?

Our team of wine explorers, led by our Chief Wine Officer and three-time Sommelier of the Year Banjo Harris Plane, wades through an ocean of bottles, to uncover only the exceptional value gems for your monthly mixtape of wine. We source amazing bottles from both local legend winemakers and like-minded international wineries. We like to source the best bottles directly from the makers as much as possible to pass the profit back to them, but also through a range of talented boutique distributors who normally reserve their bottles for restaurant trade.

We base your recommendations on your customised colour, price and grape preferences, along with you quiz answers and how you rate your bottles each month. We learn more about your tastes the more you rate.

How does our points and rewards system work?

We've built a world-first badges and rewards system which encourages you to try new bottles, grape types, production methods and more. The system then rewards you for everything you do to make your wine journey more tailored, such as rating your bottles, writing reviews, taking little wine quizzes and so much more. As you earn more points you collect badges at different levels, with each level coming with its own exclusive reward that you can't get anywhere else.

Do I have to get wines every month?

You can pause at any time for up to twelve months or set your delivery frequency to every two or three months if you prefer.

When do I get billed?

We'll charge you on the same date each month based on when you signed up, but you can change this in your settings at any time.

We currently accept credit and debit cards through our secure payment gateway called Stripe. It's one of the most secure and trusted payment processes in the world and keeps all your details safe and secure.

Although we don't like spammy sales, we also don't like our members paying more than they should, so if you find a cheaper single bottle price for any wines we've already sent you, we'll credit your next box with the difference.

Do I have to subscribe to a monthly box to get my hands on some of your delicious bottles?

We do offer the ability to make one-off purchases. We get that some people don't like to sign up to things even with easy cancel options. Unfortunately most welcome offers and member rewards are reserved for people signing up to ongoing deliveries. It's how we can afford to offer them.

How do we learn about your tastes?

We start with the palate profile quiz. We ask you a bunch of fun questions to get a better idea about your tastebuds. We’ve split our palate quiz into two (approachable and advanced) to make sure we’re speaking your language. We don’t want to make things too complex and we also don’t want to dumb things down. Let’s get it right just for you. Some example questions:

For every wine we get our hands on, our team of Somms lead by three-time Sommelier of the Year, Banjo Harris Plane, tags them with 30-50 wine characteristics that make that bottle unique.
Our machine learning algorithm uses both sets of data to find you the best bottles for your tastes bud and gives each bottle on our site a percentage chance we think you’ll love it. It’s very own Netflix score, but for wine.
Then once you’ve tasted your precious bottles we ask for your score out of 5 and feed all that data back into our recommendation engine to get better and better at matching your tastes as you go on your wine adventure.
Each month we’ll send you your next recommendations in advance and you can take our recommended picks or you can jump on the site or app and make your own selections for the month. You’ve also got time to skip, pause, or cancel if you’re not feeling it that month.

We started this company because we wanted everybody to be able to experience the joy of exceptional wine for good value. We wanted to take the exclusivity and aloofness of the traditional wine industry and turn it on its head. We wanted to cut through the confusion, the jargon and pretentiousness and make finding new wine fun for everyone.
Wine shouldn’t have gatekeepers. It shouldn’t need expert knowledge or a prohibitive price tag to be enjoyed. It shouldn’t be intimidating or inaccessible. Joyfully Inclusive - We want wine to be accessible. We want it to be enjoyed by anyone. We want to peel away the pretentiousness and exclusivity. You shouldn’t feel self-conscious or overwhelmed when picking out a bottle, wine should be fun. But there’s a lot going on, we get it. And we understand it all, so our winesquad don’t have to — so we can use our knowledge to make their wine adventure more joyful. Lights, mediums, heavies — we want to share every body with everybody.
Adventure - What’s life without a little adventure? We like to try new things, push the boundaries a bit, challenge the status quo where we can. That’s how we find our new favourite bottles. That’s how we find new ways of doing business. That’s how we find new ways to cater to our customers and make sure they’re getting the best experience possible.
Remarkable Customer Service - Wanna know what really floats our boat? It’s hearing from a customer that they’re loving what we’re doing. It’s knowing that we’ve done something so well that someone takes a moment out of their busy life to let us know. That’s what we strive for. Beautiful bottles aside, we want our user experience, deliveries and customer service to be remarkable.
No Planet, No Pinot - We care about the planet like most people do, it’s where we live, after all. But to look at things from a pragmatic point of view for a minute, climate change is making it harder to grow our grapes, and we really need them. So wherever we have a choice, we try to make it a green one. Whether that’s removing plastic or using biodegradable materials where possible, we do it.

We originally started in Sydney, Australia, but today we’re based all over around the globe! The best wines can come from anywhere, so this keeps us on our toes!

Shipping times - how long does it take to get my hands on my precious box?

We always endeavour to dispatch the same or next business day. And we stick to this 94% of the time. From there it’s down to our courier partners, who aim to deliver with 24-48 hours!

Are your packaging materials environmentally friendly?

Accepted Answer

A core belief of ours is No Planet, No Pinot. So we do everything we can to make our boxes as friendly on the environment as possible. Our boxes are made out of majority of recycled materials and are recyclable again. And your wine is often protected by a biodegradable protective insert made from a sugarcane by-product, which breaks down in the soil. So you can either compost it at home, put it in your green waste bin, or put it in general waste.

How much does shipping cost? And is it ever free?

Shipping is free for all orders that have 4 bottles or more. Otherwise we charge a flat rate of £5.

We use Yodel to delivery your precious cargo. They are always adding to their service offering and you can expect them to get in touch via email or sms directly to make sure they are delivering exactly how you like it!

How will I keep track of my delivery?

As soon as your box is picked up by our courier partners you'll get sent all the tracking information and you can follow along as your box makes its way to your door.
