Details
Ok, so this looks like cloudy grapefruit juice - pink/orangey hued - and certainly the flavours follow on that line. We're talking mandarin, peach and melon, plus a hit of sweet grapeyness. It's round and yet pithy, with a twinge of orange bitterness to balance out some honeyed sweetness. Very easy to enjoy!
Central Victoria has lived in the shadow (speaking wine-wise) of far more famous regions like Geelong, the Yarra Valley and the Mornington Peninsula for a number of years... but it seems those days may well be over. From the Grampians to the Pyrenees and anywhere in between, there's young blood and fresh ideas coursing through these old vines. The fruit coming from them has never been better, and it seems like Victorian viticulture is taking these inland regions to new heights. State of Bliss is a sub label from the crew at Eleni, who craft a range of cracking, great value wines, from a range of varieties. One grape they have planted quite extensively is Pinot Grigio, so they decided to play around with it a bit, try out some skin contact, and then make it fizzy, via the time honoured method of Pét-Nat. For their first crack at such a style, we reckon they've done a cracking job.

Pairing guide
We’re big fans of this delicious Pét-Nat wine from Eleni, which balances acidity and freshness with that delightful fizz in real style. When it comes to food pairing, you can’t beat matching Pét-Nat with fried tempura veggies, chips, or zucchini fritters - basically any fried or breaded dishes, especially when served with a mountain of chips! It’s also a top pairing for Thai green curries and Malaysian specialties, fried Indian starters, and Singapore fried rice, and it will work very well with vegan tacos and other meat-free Mexican classics, too.
